Highland Elementary is temporarily located at 1001 Fort Crook Road N in Bellevue. This elementary school serves students pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. Small class size and the assistance of educational paraprofessionals and supplemental resource programs provide an ideal learning environment for every child.
Highland School was erected in South Omaha as a frame building over a century ago. In 1889, a new brick school was opened. Additions were built to the school in 1927 and 1944. For years, Highland was the southern anchor for the Omaha Public Schools and was the first departmentalized junior high school in Omaha.
